Google has marked the first day of srping with one of its famous doodles- in this case, a charming little blobman watering a handful of lovely flowers.
The best times to visit Italy are spring and autumn, when the weather is usually good (mild and sunny but not too hot) and sites of interest are less crowded than in summer. Spring is also a wonderful time to visit the Italian countryside, when wild flowers are in bloom. In the run up to Easter, there are usually traditional Catholic festivities held in towns and villages across the country, notably the passion-play festival (I Misteri/The Mysteries) in Trapani, Sicily.
